In 1925, inside a small house on Rua Marquês de Abrantes in Rio de Janeiro, the foundation of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu history was built. With limited resources but an extraordinary vision, Carlos Gracie opened the first Gracie Jiu-Jitsu school and began what would become one of the most influential martial arts legacies the world has ever seen.
What started as a modest living room training space quickly became something much bigger. Carlos brought together his brothers — Oswaldo, Gastão, George, and Hélio — teaching them not only techniques, but a philosophy built around discipline, resilience, self-improvement, and family.
Long before Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu became a global phenomenon, the Gracie family was building the roots of the art through relentless dedication and belief in their mission. The bond forged inside that small house helped create the family culture and warrior mindset that would eventually shape generations of grapplers around the world.
This design pays tribute to the origins of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and the humble beginnings that changed martial arts forever.
